Reader comments

When you post, your chosen name, comment and posting time are stored and displayed publicly. Do not include private information. Comments are published immediately and may be removed from public display. Moderation and backup copies may retain removed comments.

Hosting and security

Cloudflare hosts this site and stores reader comments. Our comment service uses a salted hash of your IP address to limit repeated submissions; it does not store the raw IP address. Temporary rate-limit records expire. Hosting providers may process network information to deliver and protect the service. Cloudflare privacy policy.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand visits and page views only after you choose to allow analytics. Google may use cookies and process usage and device information. Choosing Reject prevents our Analytics tag from loading. Your choice is saved in this browser. You can change it using Cookie preferences in the footer. Local browser storage

This site saves your analytics choice in local storage and uses session storage to avoid repeatedly counting the same article view. Our separate popular-article counter stores aggregated daily counts rather than individual viewing histories.

Advertising

This site has applied to Google AdSense. Advertising is not currently enabled. If Google ads are enabled, Google and other third-party vendors may use cookies to serve ads based on visits to this and other sites, including personalized ads.
